The last song...

Hi, hello. So last night I watched "The Last Song". It was so so. The story line was really good but Miley Cyrus just did not work for that part. She can't really pull off the depressed, angry teen. The switch to happy go lucky Ronnie was too drastic. It should have been gradual. Will helped her through the healing process but it shouldn't have been like "bam" and she is happy. The complexity of the character would have been portrayed a lot better had it been a different actress. That was the type of character that always pulls me in and I just can't get enough of. Too bad that didn't happen. Oh well it was all in all a decent movie.

Dreams...Again

Hi, hello. So back onto this same topic. One time in a birthday card to me, my sister wrote a message to me, it said: "Don't be afraid to fly cause I know that you will soar," this has inspired my dreams and I found that it was a huge encouragement to me. I am no longer settling down for small dreams but am aiming high.

Dreams...

Hi, hello. I don't know about everyone else but it seems to me that I am the only one who tends to dream big. I have dreamt of going to the Olympics, about publishing books, changing the world, making a difference in the world. It just seems like lots of the people that I have talked to don't share those same huge dreams as me. They don't have any plans of wanting to travel and see the world. They just want to go to University and then come back and get married and work here doing nothing out of the ordinary. Personally I don't see why you would want to settle for the typical American dream when you can fly higher than that. I want to see the world. I want to be able to do whatever God wants me to do and go preach in a restricted country. I dream big! There is no reason to dream small when you can touch anything in your dreams.

Olympics and the world

Hi, hello. A while ago I had a post that was titled the exact same thing but for some strange reason I deleted it. So this is the new one about the same thing. The theme song of the 2010 Olympic Winter games was "I Believe", it talks about in the song of a world brought together as one. I have thought about this and its so true. Could you imagine if like how the world gets together for a sporting event like the Olympics. We stand united while we compete against each other. The original purpose of the Olympic games was to stop war for a bit and have a while of peace in the midst of turmoil. What if rather than fighting against each other the world united and we fought against things like poverty, disease, famine? We could make our home a better place. It could be incredible. If we can join together and have peace for two weeks for a sporting event why is it so hard to be at peace with each other all the time?

It's really sad that the next world cup won't be for four years...

Hi, hello. Well I know that the world cup has now been over for a while but I really do miss it. I haven't had much time to talk about it since my summer was a bit chaotic and I sort of forgot about my blog. The excitement of the World Cup is what I think I love the best. The soccer fans just go crazy after all they only get this event once every four years. They go wild cheering for their country or whatever team they want to win. Its just so incredible to watch it on TV and in videos. It just gives you a thrill for you're country and makes you proud to be part of it. Yeah my friend who was in South Africa for the Abstain 2010 (an organization that is fighting against human trafficking) said that it was amazing and the streets were just wild and thrilling. I wish I could have been there! Well maybe I will at the next one.
